SOMERSET, N.J. – The New Jersey Subcontractors Association recently recognized Vic Wortmann Jr. of VRH Construction as its 2025 general contractor of the year during the association’s annual Subby Awards reception at The Palace at Somerset Park.

The general contractor of the year award recognizes a leader whose approach sets the pace for quality work, strong subcontractor partnerships and safe, well-managed job sites.
“Vic Wortmann Jr. embodies what subcontractors respect most in a general contractor: clear communication, fairness and a steady commitment to getting the work done the right way” said Jai Patel, president of NJSA. “He understands that strong projects are built on strong partnerships and he’s earned a reputation for running job sites where teams are aligned, problems get solved and safety stays front and center.”
Wortmann said he was proud to be recognized by NJSA and credited the people who make projects successful.

“This is an honor, especially coming from the subcontractors who are on the front lines of every schedule and every detail. The best projects happen when everyone is treated as a true partner, expectations are clear and safety is nonnegotiable. That’s the standard we work to set at VRH Construction and I’m grateful to our team and our trade partners who deliver it every day.
