VRHLift: Early Planning & Alternative Delivery System
As a general contractor, VRH understands the importance of having a single resource to lead early planning efforts that ensure projects are well-coordinated and maintain operational continuity. VRHLift, our early planning and alternative delivery system, leverages over 66 years of experience utilizing lessons learned & best practices, performing a risk analysis, VBuild, our historical cost database, and procurement insights to enhance preconstruction services and offer alternative delivery options for your project such as CMAR or design-build project delivery.

Early Planning & Preconstruction Services
At VRH, we believe early planning is the foundation of a successful project. Preconstruction is the strategic phase where critical elements—design, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement—are aligned well before construction begins. By engaging early, we help identify potential challenges, enhance constructability, and refine the design to support project goals. This proactive approach sets the stage for smoother execution, greater cost certainty, and more efficient project delivery.
Alternative Delivery
VRH offers proven alternative delivery methods, including Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and design-build. Through CMAR, we provide early input on schedule, cost, and constructability, then assume risk to deliver within a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), ensuring greater cost control and fewer changes.
Our VRHDesignBuild approach aligns with DBIA best practices and the PANYNJ TCAP process. We also have two DBIA-certified design professionals serving as dedicated Design Managers.

VRH has worked at airports operated by the Port Authority of NY & NJ for more than six decades. In the NY/NJ/PA metro area, our expertise in the unique requirements of the airport terminals is unmatched – whether we’re servicing an airline or the PANYNJ directly.

We also have experience interfacing with local airport & governing authorities of airports not managed by the PANYNJ, such as the City of Philadelphia DOA, Syracuse Regional Airport Authority, among other local governing authorities.

VRHDesign+Construction Technology (VD+CT)
​VRHDesign+Construction Technology (VD+CT) is our proprietary system that integrates project management, budgeting, scheduling, and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) to consistently exceed expectations.
Key tools include VBuild, our core project management platform, and VDC services such as Scanning Services, 2D/3D Coordination of Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Virtual Reality (VR).
Self-Performing Work
All VRH field operations personnel have Port Authority-issued SIDA badges at EWR, JFK and LGA allowing for immediate project startup and access to airside operations areas as required. To further enhance the nimbleness of our operation, the company employs thirty-five full-time tradesman who perform work ranging from site clean-up to drywall and carpentry to ornamental metal “installations”. This ability to self-perform specific construction activities enables VRH to set the pace for the project, maintain cost compliance and increase our flexibility in responding to project and scope changes.

At VRH, our Technical Services Department plays a vital role throughout both preconstruction and construction, focusing on design management, virtual design & construction, and sustainability.

Our team brings deep expertise in design and engineering management, construction management, program coordination, logistics and phasing, as well as comprehensive design and technical reviews.​
Design Management
Our design management entails the structured process of coordinating the design phase to ensure that project goals for cost, quality & schedule are met. Our design managers ensure that creative ideas are translated into practical, buildable solutions that align with the client's needs and regulatory requirements. It bridges the gap between design and construction, helping projects run more smoothly & efficiently.

VRH currently has two DBIA certified staff who are also design professionals, functioning as our Design Managers.

We’re committed to environmental conservation and sustainability. Our mission is to reduce environmental impact, boost efficiency, and raise awareness through education and training—all while delivering maximum value to our aviation clients.
We’ve delivered multiple LEED-certified projects: most recently, the Realterm Cargo Facility at JFK (LEED Gold) and our own LEED-certified office.
VRHVigilant Safety & Security Program
The VRHVigilant Safety and Security Program uniquely merges safety and security into a single program containing operating protocols that specifically address the aviation construction environment.
The program includes the VRH orientation video, employs a company-wide 30-hour OSHA certification training program, creates standard safety forms using VBuild, logs every field employee, creates custom VRH security badges, and tracks VRH trucks using GPS for 24/7 visibility.
